Ollaberry expert Kathleen Anderson and hoe master Alex Nicholson of Breckon, Yell, gave advice on preserving Scotland’s oldest vegetable variety. It follows work by the Northmavine Community Development Company (NCDC) aimed at keeping the kale seed at the heart of local food production. It was great to better understand the NCDC’s work to keep Shetland kale seed available both locally and nationally as well. NCDC is looking for more growers and seed producers so anyone interested should contact ncdcoffice@northmavine.com.
