HENDERSON — A former Henderson ISD educator has been indicted by a Rusk County grand jury on a charge of sexual assault of a child. “Henderson ISD is aware of the arrest of a former employee on allegations involving conduct that reportedly occurred 12 years ago, before the individual worked at Henderson ISD,” Henderson ISD officials said in a news release. “According to the information provided to the district by law enforcement, the allegations did not involve Henderson ISD or any Henderson ISD student. Under Texas law, sexual assault of a child occurs when a person intentionally or knowingly engages in certain prohibited sexual acts with a child younger than 17 years of age.
