Indian badminton player Ashmita Chaliha secured her first BWF World Tour crown on Sunday, coming from behind to overcome China's Han Qianxi 14-21, 21-14, 21-14 in the women's singles final of the Korea Masters.
The 26-year-old mounted a spirited recovery following the loss of the opening game to earn a landmark triumph, becoming just the fifth Indian female shuttler to capture a BWF World Tour Super 300 or higher-tier championship.
The final game featured intense rallies as both players contested every exchange.
With the triumph, Chaliha joined Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, Devika Sihag, and Tanvi Sharma as the only Indian women to secure a BWF World Tour Super 300 or higher title.
The Korea Masters success marks Chaliha's maiden BWF World Tour title following her resolute comeback against the world No.
