Jonathan Dann, of Penny Lane, Haydock, also threatened to burn down a police station on the same day. The defendant appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 31 after making the threats on June 10 in St Helens. The 38-year-old told staff at the St Helens Job Centre that he would "burn the place down and made similar threats to police officers, saying he would "burn down the police station". At his hearing, Dann indicated guilty pleas to a string of related offences. He indicated guilty pleas to threatening to destroy property, possession of a controlled drug, cannabis, and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
