This year's Charter Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, September 12 between 10.30am and 3.20pm. The event celebrates the anniversary of King Edward I presenting the charter to Ulverston in 1280, which officially allowed the town to host markets. A spokesperson from the town council said: "Join us for a free fun-filled day featuring live music and entertainment, free balloon modelling, free face painting, giant games, and a free art and craft session. "[There will be] free LEGO building with prizes, a variety of stalls, model train rides, walkabout entertainers, food vendors, an inshore rescue boat, a human fruit machine, a fire engine, and more." At 2pm, the family dog show will be held at Market Cross with residents encouraged to submit their pups for the competition.
