The United Utilities project at Warrington South Wastewater Treatment Works is part of an over £17 million investment to improve water quality in the region, with the aim of raising water standards in the Manchester Ship Canal. The project forms part of United Utilities’ wider infrastructure investment, which will see over £13 billion spent across the North West over the next five years. While major civil engineering works at the Warrington South site have been completed, electrical installations are still ongoing. United Utilities is delivering the scheme under its Enterprise model, which brings together seven design and construction partners into a single, integrated delivery team. The company describes this as its largest investment in water and wastewater infrastructure in a century.
