Mint Properties Limited has submitted plans to Colchester Council to transform the upper floors of 16 High Street.
The ground floor unit of 16 High Street was previously home to bakery brand Greggs until it relocated to 40 Culver Street West in June 2023.
If approved, the developer wants to convert the upper floors into six residential apartments whilst retaining the commercial unit.
“The proposal successfully balances the delivery of much-needed housing with the retention of active commercial uses, ensuring that the site's important contribution to the vitality of High Street is maintained.
The proposal also includes a new independent residential entrance from Culver Street West, associated cycle storage, refuse storage and internal alterations.
