5-year plan to create more jobs, widen housing ladder for young people: John Lee
['Matthew Cheng']
South China Morning Post
Hong Kong’s first five-year plan will create more quality jobs and support young people seeking to start businesses, while the Northern Metropolis megaproject will help them move up the housing ladder, the city’s leader has said.
The two-month public consultation on the five-year blueprint ends on Friday.
Lee said he would release the plan in September, followed by his policy address, adding that he hoped to minimise the interval between the two announcements.
Lee and government ministers met 120 residents at Kowloon Tong Government Primary School.
During the two-hour forum, participants raised suggestions on the economy, technological advancement and housing, with youth development emerging as the most frequently discussed topic.
