Rajamahendravaram: The hit-and-run case involving postgraduate medical student Kanike Priyanka has taken a tragic turn, with the 28-year-old doctor dying while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad. According to the police, the two accused had allegedly consumed alcohol before arriving at a mall. The accused allegedly assaulted security personnel and attempted to flee from the spot in their car. The accused allegedly fled the scene without stopping to assist the injured victims. With Priyanka’s death, the case has now assumed greater seriousness, while investigators are expected to examine the CCTV footage, medical evidence, alcohol-related evidence and other material before deciding on further sections and charges.
