A SEVEN-WICKET haul from Nivraj Virk helped Lichfield secure a two-wicket home victory over Wednesbury. The city men were sent into the field first and made a breakthrough when Thomas Clarke had Arslan Arshad Bajwa caught by James Suttle with the score on 53. Virk claimed his first victim of a productive afternoon when Abdul Salam was bowled to leave the visitors on 80-2. A half-century for Gavin Lord kept the scoreboard ticking over though, but Lichfield eventually skittled the visitors out for 203. But Virk (10) and Liam Orgill (29) kept their nerve to see the city men across the line and secure a two-wicket triumph.
