AdvertisementTHERE’S eating and drinking in Australian body horror film Saccharine about anorexia and gluttony. Written and directed by Natalie Erika James, this Melbourne-set cinematic delight is deeply atmospheric, grisly, psychologically overwhelming and artfully framed. Saccharine is not always easy to stomach but it handles its tough subject matter with great sensitivity and empathy. This is a truly powerful and unique addition to the body horror canon.
