The Israeli occupation authorities exploited these developments to intensify systematic violations against the Palestinian population. A subsequent exchange of gunfire resulted in the deaths of a soldier and an officer from the occupation forces – both residents of nearby settlement outposts. Israeli occupation forces arrived at the scene and immediately opened live fire directly at Palestinian civilians. During the same period, Israeli occupation forces have killed 1,122 Palestinians. Furthermore, we call upon the United Nations and the international community to provide immediate protection for the Palestinian civilian population under occupation.
