The National Weather Service says a heat advisory is in effect through Wednesday night for all of Western Kentucky. National Weather Service forecasters say temperatures in the low 90s will combine with humidity to result in heat indices between 100 and 108 degrees through Wednesday night. The heat advisory could extend into Thursday depending on when a cold front arrives later this week that will bring high temperatures down into the upper 80s. The National Weather Service reminds everyone that high humidity and hot temperatures can cause heat illness. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned room if possible, stay out of the sun, check on relatives and neighbors, and make sure pets and livestock have plenty of fresh water and shade.
