The blaze, which broke out near Llangynidr Reservoir, has been declared as a major incident with teams from South Wales and Mid and West Wales fire and rescue services still at the scene. A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "This morning, Firefighters from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are continuing to tackle a moorland wildfire near Llangynidr Reservoir, and smoke remains visible and in affecting communities in and around the area. The spokesperson said: "Our advice remains the same: please do not fly drones near the incident. A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Mid and West Wales Fire & Rescue Service and South Wales Fire & Rescue Service are continuing to tackle a moorland wildfire near Llangynidr Reservoir. "At 7pm this evening [August 8], Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service declared a major incident due to the number of resources and specialist appliances which included All-Terrain Vehicles and High-Volume Pumps.
