Banda, 45, died on Saturday at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital in Blantyre. “For a number of years, Brian Banda won Talk Show Host of the Year Awards under the MISA Malawi Annual Media Awards and Television Personality of the Year under MBC Entertainers of the Year Awards,” said Washon. The organisation said Banda’s death was a loss not only to MBC but also to the wider media fraternity, where he had built a reputation through his journalism and broadcasting career. His death has left colleagues and members of the media fraternity mourning the loss of one of Malawi’s prominent broadcasters and journalists.
