Thousands of students and job aspirants in Ranchi, Jharkhand, took part in a peaceful flashlight and torchlight protest against alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). The latest protest comes as the agitation continues and the state government attempts to engage with the students through talks. Other protesters have alleged that irregularities have affected several recruitment examinations and said the issue cannot be resolved merely by assurances. Their concerns include alleged paper leaks, questions over examination management and discrepancies in recruitment processes linked to JPSC and JSSC. That is why allegations of irregularities in recruitment examinations deserve a serious, transparent and time-bound response.
