Lawyers for Animal Rights urged the authorities to secure CCTV footage from the area before it was overwritten and track down the suspect who drove the pick-up truck. PETALING JAYA : An animal rights group has urged police to investigate after a pick-up truck purportedly ran over a puppy twice at a parking lot in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. Rajesh Nagarajan of Lawyers for Animal Rights said a white Mitsubishi Triton first struck the puppy while entering the parking bay before reversing and running over it a second time, killing the animal. He said the case could not simply be treated as negligence or an accident. Rajesh called for the case to be investigated under Sections 29(1)(a) and 29(1)(e) of the Animal Welfare Act, which cover animal cruelty and causing unnecessary pain or suffering to animals.
