(Ministry of Unity pic)KUALA LUMPUR : This year’s official Malaysia Day celebrations will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) in Sarawak, says government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil. Fahmi, the communications minister, said BCCK had the capacity and space necessary to host the national-level celebrations on Sept 16, with preparations for the event now under way. Last year, the official Malaysia Day celebrations were held in Penang. Separately, Fahmi said Prasarana Malaysia Bhd would provide 24-hour public transport services on Aug 30 and 31 in conjunction with the Merdeka celebrations, which will be held in Putrajaya.
