As of today, Bersatu remains a component of Perikatan Nasional, said coalition chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar. PETALING JAYA : Perikatan Nasional chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar says Bersatu is still a component of the coalition, contradicting PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s claim that Bersatu had automatically ceased to be a PN member. “As of today, Bersatu is still a PN member,” the PAS vice-president was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia. On Friday, Hadi claimed that Bersatu was no longer a PN component as, under the PN constitution, any party that chooses to join or form another alliance would automatically lose its membership. Bersatu information chief Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz later said the party plans to file a report with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) over its status as a PN component.
