Hospitality group Whitbread will shut sites across Essex and beyond next month as part of a plan to close venues under brands including Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table, Cookhouse + Pub, and Bar + Block. Affected restaurants in Essex include Table Table’s Balkerne Gate in Colchester and Bowling Green in Clacton, as well as the Potters Arms Cookhouse + Pub in Harlow. Brewers Fayre sites set for closure include the Mulberry Tree in Braintree, The Mayflower in Dovercourt, and Chafford Hundred on Unicorn Estate. Beefeater locations to close include Strawberry Field in Southend, Harlow Mill, Watermill in Basildon, and The Haywain in Fobbing. The last day for Table Table as well as Cookhouse + Pub will be September 3, with Brewers Fayre sites closing on September 7 and Beefeater restaurants shutting down on September 10.
