Another protest has been planned outside RAF Barnham, which the Home Office said it was considering to house asylum seekers, following violence across the border where officers from Norfolk Police were assaulted. Tensions flared in nearby Thetford this week when people attempted to storm homes linked to asylum seekers. No asylum seekers are yet housed at the site, with the Home Office announcing that it was considering using the site as asylum accommodation for men between the age of 18 and 65. Suffolk Constabulary said it was aware of a planned protest on Sunday and officers would be at the scene. “Previous protests at MoD Barnham have been peaceful, and we would like to thank all those involved for expressing their views in a lawful and respectful manner.
