But pulling up to the park entrance, a new U.S. National Park Service policy brought their decades-long tradition to an abrupt halt: a mandatory $100 USD per-person surcharge applied exclusively to non-U.S. residents.
While previous discussions suggested Canadians might be granted an exemption out of goodwill for the peace park, no such relief materialized.
