Driver given six points after failing to identify motorist in Durham

Tanwir Rashid, of Highfield Road, Saltley, Birmingham was found guilty at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on August 6, of not providing driver details when required by Durham Police.
The incident took place on August 20, 2025, in County Durham and involved a Mercedes, where Rashid failed to share information about the person who was alleged to have committed a traffic offence.
Rashid received a fine of £692, was ordered to pay £120 costs and a £277 victim services surcharge.
Rashid had pleaded not guilty at a March 26 hearing.
All amounts must be paid in full by September 3.
