Health professionals asked to deliver equitable services
['Brenda Luwedde']
NTV Uganda
Health professionals in the Rwenzori Sub-region are raising alarm over the high HIV/AIDS prevalence among sex workers and other key population groups, with Fort Portal City recording a staggering 41 percent prevalence rate—second only to Mbarara City’s 42 percent.
The concern has prompted health professionals to launch a new Healthcare Professionals’ Handbook aimed at helping healthcare providers deliver equitable and non-discriminatory sexual and reproductive health and HIV services to sex workers and other vulnerable groups at high risk of infection.
