The Wisconsin teenager accused of killing his 10-year-old cousin, Lily Peters, in 2022 may not face a November trial after a resolution hearing was scheduled in the case. The Chippewa County District Attorney's Office announced that a resolution hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 26, according to WEAU. According to the complaint, Peters-Berger allegedly "punched [Lily] in the stomach, knocking her to the ground" and struck her with a stick while they were in the woods. Afterward, Peters-Berger allegedly returned home, where "he showered and put his dirty clothes in the laundry," according to the complaint. Peters-Berger was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree sexual assault and first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 13 resulting in great bodily harm.
