“Our Career and Technical Education programs are preparing students for success whether they choose college, military service or immediate entry into the workforce,” Ashley Alvarez, executive director of communications for Victoria ISD. Agriculture continues to be one of the district’s strongest programs, with hundreds of students earning plant science and animal science certifications. “Communication, teamwork, professionalism, problem-solving and leadership are essential parts of every Career and Technical Education classroom,” she said. According to Alvarez, Career and Technical Education continues to gain momentum because families increasingly recognize the value of career-ready graduates. “Career and Technical Education gives students meaningful opportunities to discover their passions while earning valuable credentials before they graduate,” Alvarez said.
