Lyon said Goliad ISD wants students to become comfortable using technology while developing the skills AI cannot replace. A national Gallup survey found that six in 10 K-12 teachers now use AI tools in their work, while nearly one-third use them weekly. RAND researchers found that 48% of districts had provided AI training for teachers by fall 2024, up from just 23% the year before. “That preparation has to be balanced with strong relationships, high expectations, and a continued commitment to teaching students how to think—not just how to use a device.”
