Families, children and teens turned Saturday into a celebration of the region’s parks and those responsible for keeping them secure at the 6th annual Regional Junior Ranger Day at Pete Livermore Sports Complex. Myranda Gonzales brought her children Ava, Joseph, Stallone and Rebyl to the event, where they participated in lawn fish casting. Participating agencies featured Nevada State Parks, Reno Parks, Washoe County Parks and Carson City Parks. Participating children were also sworn is as Junior Rangers during a special ceremony. For their attendance, the new Junior Rangers each received a parks passport and learned about upcoming Park Ranger activities in the region.
