A notorious child rapist who escaped while on escorted leave in Perth was on the run for a full day before the public were told, it can be revealed. Restricted patient, Clifford Lyons Dobbie, absconded from an unknown location in Perth city centre while on community leave. An alert was first issued to the public shortly before 2pm on Friday, but The Courier can reveal Lyons had escaped on Thursday August 6. These are individuals subject to special legal controls because they pose a serious risk to public safety. Lyons was judged to be such a risk that the public were warned not to approach him and to call 999 if he was spotted.
