The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has warned that tanning through sun exposure or tanning beds can damage the skin and increase the risk of skin cancer, urging people to take precautions when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) rays. The health guidance also highlights the importance of protecting the eyes and skin from UV radiation, including:Wearing sunglasses to protect the eyes from UV rays and the delicate skin around them from sun damage. Choosing sunglasses offering 100% UV protection or absorbing UV rays up to 400 nanometres (nm). Avoiding tanning beds, which can expose the skin to harmful UV radiation and increase the risk of skin damage and skin cancer.
