EVERETT — Boeing is donating $250,000 from its Charitable Trust to support recovery efforts for communities hit by wildfires in the Spokane and Eastern Washington areas. The Spokane fires of the Old Trails, Autumn Lane and Fairview blazes continue to impact the region after igniting on August. 1 amid extreme heat, low humidity and high winds—at least one person has been arrested for intentionally starting the Old Trails fire. Spokane County Prosecutors added additional arson charges, and a judge raised his bond to $2 million while ordering a mental competency evaluation. Boeing, which employs more than 65,000 people in Washington state, also will match qualifying employee donations to relief efforts through its gift-match programs.
