A Porter Airlines flight from Victoria to Toronto was cancelled Thursday night after a young child would not remain buckled in their seat, ultimately leaving passengers unable to depart until the following day. Porter says both the child’s accompanying parent and flight crew attempted to address the situation but were unsuccessful. Returning to the terminal set off a series of delays that ultimately prevented the flight from leaving Victoria that night. “We apologize for the effect this had on other passengers, who were able to depart on a flight the following day,” Porter said. The airline did not provide the number of passengers affected or further details about the child and accompanying parent.
