Despite always feeling as though she was weak, she would often train with her "Kuya" — a Philippines term for "older brother" — as a way of spending time with him. Unfortunately, Yasmine's brother would disappear under suspicious circumstances. Her feelings of insecurity only grew stronger without the support of her older brother. It's interesting to note that the fate of Yasmine's brother goes unresolved by the story's end. Despite this, Yasmine appears to have a happy ending of sorts as she still continues to dedicate herself to finding her brother.
