An Irish government aircraft departed on Saturday for Dubai to bring back Daniel Joseph Kinahan, a suspected transnational cartel figure, who is expected to face trial in Ireland over alleged serious criminal offences, local media reported. Ireland’s national broadcaster RTE reported that the government jet left on Saturday morning and was expected to return with Kinahan on Sunday. ADVERTISEMENTHe was arrested in Dubai in April after a warrant was issued in Ireland for “alleged serious organized crime offences” and lost appeals against extradition. On arrival in Ireland, Kinahan was expected to be taken to the Special Crime Court in Dublin amid a large security operation, RTE reported. The case related to a long-running violent feud between the Kinahan cartel and the rival Dublin-based Hutch gang.
