"Tunsil was hurt in Saturday's practice in a one-on-one pass rush drill vs. Odafe Oweh.
"Tunsil immediately bent over in apparent pain and held his right side and headed to the medical tent just off the field.
The 32-year-old Tunsil is a five-time Pro Bowler entering his 11th NFL season and second with Washington.
"They also have Andrew Wylie, who typically replaces Tunsil in practice but has played almost exclusively on the right side.
Running back Austin Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week 2, edge rusher Dorance Armstrong Jr. suffered a torn ACL in Week 7, cornerback Marshon Lattimore suffered a torn left ACL in Week 9 and cornerback Trey Amos suffered a fractured fibula in Week 10.
