However, there's a contract problem that now has to be spoken about, including one with star defensive back Christian Gonzalez. However, according to the latest report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, it doesn't sound like contract talks have gone too well for both sides. “Gonzalez’s (contract talks) don’t seem to me like they have advanced that far,” Rapoport said. From Gonzalez's standpoint, it's not a terrible idea to wait if he's willing to bet on his play.
