Chard man sentenced in Magistrates' Court for possessing cannabis

The defendant, Jordan James, 26, of Dominy Close, Chard, appeared in Yeovil Magistrates’ Court on August 4 of this year.
James was charged with possessing a controlled drug of Class B - Cannabis/Cannabis Resin.
James pleaded guilty on August 4 of this year to having 1.7 grams of cannabis flowering head, a controlled drug of Class B, in his possession on April 22 of this year in Chard.
According to the court listings, during his sentencing, James has been ordered to pay a fine of £40.
The court has also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the 1.7 grams of cannabis flowering head under Section 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
