LA CROSSE, Wisconsin — After experiencing the high of highs on Friday night, a one-run win at a packed Mayo Field, the Rochester Honkers finished their season Saturday with a decisive loss — 9-2 at the La Crosse Loggers in Northwoods League baseball. The Honkers, who won’t have a season in 2027, finished this year with a 35-36 record, including 16-21 in the second half. ADVERTISEMENTThe playoff-bound Loggers (23-12 in the second half), outhit the Honkers by double — 12-6. Star Honkers second baseman Angel Santiago was held hitless and finished his season with a .364 average. The Honkers used five pitchers after that, none of them going more than 1 2/3 innings.
