Dad Matters, a project run by Home-Start Blackburn with Darwen and funded through the area’s Family Hubs, aims to support fathers and father figures during the perinatal period and beyond, recognising the key role they play in a child's development and family life. Funding was secured through BwD Family Hubs, who received a grant to develop and deliver a range of innovative Perinatal programmes. The project also works closely with maternity services, health visitors, family hubs and community organisations to make sure fathers know how to get help if they're struggling. Dad Matters services are available to any father or father figure in Blackburn with Darwen. Men can self-refer or be referred by professionals, including midwives, health visitors, GPs, or family support services.
