Chorlton Planning Ltd submitted the application on behalf of Zed Iqbal to develop the former site of The Workers, in Market Street, Whitworth. A planning statement said: “The application property, known as The Workers, is a prominent building within the street scene at the junction of Market Street and Albert Street, Whitworth. It is proposed that the existing building will be converted into eight self-contained apartments, four on each floor. There will be little change to the front elevation to Market Street; the existing windows and door openings will be retained and used. The statement added: “The existing building is of substantial construction but is in need of repair and renovation.
