He was jailed for 26 weeks and ordered to pay £100 compensation to the security officer, £34 to Tesco and a £154 victim surcharge on release. He said when the security officer at Tesco in Burnley asked Wrighton to move on, he responded by headbutting him in the face. Lucy Williams, mitigating, said following his release from prison, Wrighton had been living on the streets. "He struggles with an alcohol addiction and was stealing to fuel that addiction," said Miss Williams. "He regrets his reaction to the security officer."
