The proposal would see the home on Orsett Road, Grays, converted into a one-bedroom flat designed for two residents, while the larger first-floor and loft-level maisonette could house a family of four. Supporting documents argue the scheme would make "efficient use of an existing building" by creating an additional home close to Grays town centre. Developers confirmed the site is 500 metres from the station and close to local amenities, making it suitable for a car-free development. Plans also include a rear extension, side extension and a loft conversion to create an extra living space on the upper floor. The existing front entrance and hallway would remain a shared space, while each flat would have its own front door.
