Harry Conrad Dorn was born August 13, 1943 to Leonard Eugene Dorn and Elizabeth Claire Dorn in Mobile, Alabama. He was the father to Darrell Dorn (Sheri) of Griffin, Georgia, David Dorn of Atlanta, Georgia, Douglas Dorn (Shelia) of Christiansburg, Virginia and Daniel Dorn (Lauren) of Apex, North Carolina. He was grandfather to William Dorn, Eli Dorn, Heath Dorn, Heather Dorn, Zachary Dorn, Jonah Dorn, and Veda Elizabeth Dorn. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Lee Dorn and Elwood Dorn. During the 1990’s with Dean Laynam Chang, Harry helped initiate the nanoscience program at Virginia Tech.
