Andhra Pradesh proposes Rs 257 crore to expand AYUSH infrastructure

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has sought Rs 257 crore from the Central government under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) for the financial year 2026- 27, to strengthen AYUSH healthcare infrastructure and expand services across the state, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said.
The proposal was announced during the first state-level conference of government AYUSH doctors held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada, where the minister outlined the government’s infrastructure and workforce expansion plans for the AYUSH sector.
Permanent buildings for AYUSH Health Mandirs are also in the final stages of development.
On the workforce front, Yadav said the government has recruited 216 AYUSH doctors across various categories since assuming office.
The conference was attended by Health Secretary Shri G Veerapandian, AYUSH Commissioner Shri Ronanki Gopalakrishna, and approximately 550 AYUSH doctors from across Andhra Pradesh.
