Canada deported 3,323 Indian citizens in the first six months of 2026, PTI cited data from the country’s border services agency as saying. In 2025, Canada deported 3,779 Indian citizens. In the first half of 2026, Indians also accounted for the largest number of deportations from Canada, followed by Mexicans, at 1,573. India last had the highest number of deportations in 2020, when 1,424 Indian citizens were deported. In 2026, Indians also made up the largest group in Canada’s “removal in progress inventory”, with 7,669 people awaiting deportation.
