Speaking with Guardian Media, resident Bharath Samlal was equally supportive, saying the area needs a faster police response. “I think the bodycams at all times will be excellent as well because again there is no trust,” she said. But Tarodale resident Asenio Thomas believes the success of the initiative will depend on more than simply putting a police-army post in a community. He said the post would provide a visible police presence, but should not be viewed as a complete solution to crime. “Placing a police post there will show presence, but it’s not a one-stop,” Thomas said.
