Minister Roger Alexander used Emancipation Remembrance to criticise Afro-Trinidadians, describing them as “an endangered species” and questioning whether African Emancipation Day had produced meaningful progress. But I don’t think he knows better, so one should seek to educate. Remember, but don’t lose focus.
