Kathmandu, Aug 9: Floods and landslides have blocked several highways across the country, police said. The Mid Hill Highway in Tehrathum has been completely blocked. Meanwhile, the Mechi Highway has remained blocked since June 6 in Ilam Municipality, Ward 9, after rain turned the road muddy and impassable for vehicles. The Araniko Highway at Jiro Kilo in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Ward 4, has remained completely blocked since June 14 after a landslide fell from above. The road at Liping in Bhotekoshi, Ward 2, was also completely blocked on July 17 after the road caved in, police said.
