Hyderabad:During the past four years since 2022, four SHOs — including U. Srinivasulu Reddy, former SHO of Jubilee Hills — and three sub-inspectors in Telangana have been suspended on charges of having improper physical relations with women. In July 2026, SI Shaik Nagul Meera of Borabanda police station was suspended after his wife lodged a complaint about his relationship with a woman constable, despite earlier administrative counselling. Also in May 2026, SHO Bhukhya Raju Naik of Khammam district was suspended following a criminal case involving the exploitation of a woman. When intervened by a patrol team, Raju assaulted constable Venugopal and refused to undergo a breath-analyser test, leading to his detention and arrest. He had earlier misled his wife by claiming he was on bandobast duty for the Munugode election.
