SRINAGAR : Doda Police on Saturday arrested an absconder wanted in connection with a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, officials said. The accused, identified as Shamas Din, son of Abdul Rashid and a resident of Bhata Chaka in Doda, was wanted in FIR No. 262/2024 registered at Police Station Doda under Sections 137 and 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act. Officials said a general warrant of arrest had been issued against Din by the Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Bhaderwah, on August 28, 2025. Following the court’s directions, he was subsequently lodged in District Jail, Bhaderwah, officials said.
